The only issue I had was that we were not aware of the level of off road sections, I consider my self to be an experienced rider however I had not done any off road riding.
I think this information should be made clear before the tour is even booked.
The descriptions need some work. I’ve come back a better rider but I wasn’t expecting to be completing significant sections off road.
Even intermediate riders (in the UK) would not ordinarily have experienced off road conditions previously.
I am someone who has travelled by motorbike a great deal with one other person. Joining a tour is not normal for me. But it worked out pretty well. I would have preferred a slightly slower pace on the rough bits. I would have preferred more opportunity for a quick photo of extraordinary sights..just one or two more. But on the other hand I did not ask and should have done. I like the odd and different hotels. I like looking at the countryside but that is difficult in India when you have to look at the road so much to avoid all the hazards. I knew about that as I had motorbiked in India before. I did not like the van drive at the end. I would have preferred to have ridden the bike more towards Delhi or even into Delhi. I had come to ride a bike and not be driven especially by any Indian driver who I regard as all being dangerous drivers. I do also wish that there had been more English. The French were fine but it was tricky if they had no english and I did not have much french. At least there was one other English person, but he was not a ball of fun !! Not your fault and that was my risk!
The nationalities of the riders were only advised at the last minute.I expected a strong French speaking contingent but felt a little outnumbered at 10 to 1 although everyone was very friendly.I would have accepted a change of dates for a more international group.
Loved it.
I would not return, though!unless there was a greater English speaking number of participants. I am not complaining - the tour leader and the other riders were very indulgent of us and made sure we were always included. It would have been a bit more fun if we could have conversed more with the other participants. However, it is our fault that we don’t speak French rather than anyone else fault they don’t speak English. I’m not sure how you could fix this other than promotion work.
I did not like the hotel in Delhi. I was astounded by all the other hotels - they were fantastic.
If I was to book again, I’d be very happy to ride with Deepak and Junaid.
Thank you to all the Vintage Rides team.
i think the hotels could be better. Most places we went to had other hotels nearby which were much nicer and only a little more expensive. Rarely did i get a hot shower and the breakfasts were not great. Food all very much the same
