When is the best time to visit Rwanda? Given its proximity to the equator, Rwanda's climate alternates between two seasons: dry and rainy. It's important to pick the right time to visit Rwanda so you can fully enjoy the country's mountains and forests. The best season for a motorcycle tour in Rwanda is during summer from June to August. The rain also takes a break during winter with January being dry. The lakeside towns only have one dry season, which is between June and August. The Volcanoes, Akagera and Nyungwe National Parks are best visited during the dry seasons. The country's high altitude results in a mild climate with pleasant temperatures all year.
